Graduation
Here is the latest update from Paths of Hope!
Saturday, May 11 was a big milestone for the Greenman family as Billy graduated with an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Wheaton College.
In 2017, Billy and Kate decided to take a two-year study furlough in order to be more adequately equipped to counsel and minister to impoverished orphans and families in Peru.
Their time at Wheaton has been such a blessing! Both of their families have been nearby, allowing Will the opportunity to be with grandparents and cousins. They have enjoyed missionary housing close to the college campus, and Billy was able to conduct a significant portion of his counseling practicum with Spanish-speaking clients.
As a testament to Billy’s hard work and competence in his field of study, he received the Rech Award in Marriage and Family Therapy. This award is granted to the student who, in the judgment of the faculty of the Marriage and Family Therapy program, has excelled in the field during their course of study. This student displays commitment to the integration of psychology and theology, research and academic competence, professional proficiency, and general moral and spiritual character. What a wonderful award to receive and what a confirmation of Billy’s hard work and natural gifting! We are so proud of him!
Billy, Kate and Will plan to spend their summer raising support to return to Peru on September 16th. Billy’s graduation marks the transition of POH from a season of study and planning to a season of implementation.
The Board is looking forward with anticipation to an important weekend retreat in July. The Greenmans, and our Peruvian staff member, Linda Gamero will be an integral part of our goal setting and strategy for the coming year. Please pray for a spirit-led, profitable time together.
We also would appreciate your prayers for Billy & Kate as they work to get fully supported. Any donations you wish to make can be made on their sending organization’s website, (United World Mission) at uwm.org.
