Huberth graduates!

Huberth, our first educational scholarship recipient, recently graduated from college and we are so proud of what he has achieved!

Huberth graduated from San Ignacio de Loyola University with a degree in architecture and urban planning.

Originally, Huberth began his studies as a recipient of the Beca 18, a scholarship for higher education studies from the Peruvian government. He was able to study for more than a year with the scholarship but due to life circumstances was unable to keep it. During that period, Huberth was reunited with his biological family who he had lost touch with when he turned 8 years old and entered a children’s home. The family was not financially stable, his mother was ill and shortly after reuniting, his brother passed away in an accident. The stress now helping care for his family was too much and despite desperately wanting to, he was unable to continue with his studies and needed to find a job.

In February 2020, thanks to the gifts of some very generous donors, Paths of Hope was able to help Huberth return to the classroom and achieve his dream of becoming an architect. For the next 3 years, your support helped him focus on his studies and cover his tuition and supplies. We were also able to walk alongside him providing community and guidance.

To celebrate Huberth’s accomplishment we hosted a graduation dinner for him and invited a few friends and family members. It was a lovely evening recognizing all of the hard work he had put into his studies over the years. We also were able to congratulate him on his new job overseeing the construction of a new apartment building - which he received after doing well at his practicum at the same company.

Your support helped provide community for Huberth, the opportunity to have a professional career and changed the trajectory of his future for the better. We are grateful for your partnership in this ministry.
